“LORD, I’M TIRED”

Life does not always turn out the way we prefer. We cannot predict when pain, suffering, or calamity will rise up and steal our joy. That is why we must guard our hearts and minds before we enter seasons of trial to ensure we are well-prepared when our faith is tested. Oftentimes, we react to what the enemy throws our way rather than ensuring our spiritual armor is secure ahead of time. In that moment, the only thing which matters is whether we are disciplined to resist temptation and respond to the enemy’s lies by the power of the Holy Spirit.

It is easy to assume we are ready for battle when we have trained well in advance. However, if our spiritual disciplines are lax and infrequent, what makes us think we can withstand the onslaught of spiritual weapons Satan has at his disposal? God’s Word is the only weapon powerful enough to keep the enemy at bay, which means it must be our source of truth to identify a counterfeit when we see it. The enemy is sophisticated enough to twist God’s Word against us. Therefore, we must know what Scripture teaches so we are not deceived when we are tired.

Whether suffering from physical, emotional, psychological, or spiritual fatigue, God is not absent in our time of need. He is standing in the fire with us. Jesus defeated sin and death on the cross of Calvary! Whom then shall we fear? Our Savior empathizes with our emotions because He walked a mile in our shoes. Therefore, we can rest securely on the promises of Scripture because He died to set us free. The only question is whether we will trust His sovereignty or remain in bondage to the pleasures of this world which solve nothing but only enslave our minds further.

Plain and simple: FATIGUE.

If you asked any Christian man or woman how they are doing, the general answer is, “I’m Tired.” However, what does it mean?

• Physical Exhaustion

• Mental Health

• Emotional Distress

• Spiritual Weariness

The challenge is we are all tired and worn out but for completely different reasons. How then do we cope amid life’s trials? What answers can we find to survive fatigue today and live to see the joy of tomorrow? How can we find rest for our weary souls when all hope seems lost?

“Lord, I’m Tired,” is designed to shed light on some of the biggest issues plaguing our minds and direct our attention towards God’s Word for wisdom and discernment. Whether we feel lost, enslaved, anxious, fearful, weary, broken, tempted, regretful, undisciplined, or desperate, the Lord alone can provide guidance, freedom, assurance, protection, revival, refuge, escape, salvation, wisdom, and deliverance.

“Lord, I’m Tired,” meets us in the depths of our confusion and depravity, distinguishing between the darkness of spiritual warfare and the light of God’s truth. No matter how challenging our trials may be, the Lord is not absent in our time of need. He walks with us through the fire and meets our needs in ways we cannot fully comprehend. The only question is whose voice reigns supreme in our lives? Will we trust the Lord or lean on our own understanding?

The choice is ours, but we must choose wisely.
